Bio He was an Australian tennis promotor and former professional player.

Stubs, qualified as chemist, competed on the international circuit after university and made the singles third round of the 1967 Wimbledon Championships. He had an upset win over Tennis Hall of Famer Dennis Ralston in 1968 and retired from the tour that year to work as a pharmacist. When the pharmacy was sold in 1978 he started a career in tennis promotion, becoming the Australian Open tournament director. He ran the Kooyong Classic from its foundation in 1987 and later the Dubai Tennis Championships. His company sold the AAMI Classic (Kooyong) to IMG in 2013.

He died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
