Bio Adam-Stolpa along with his two brothers won the basketball national championship for the club BEAC (1941/42), and they won the national title in icehockey for Ujpest Dozsa where he played as very successful wing in the off-season. However, he achieved his biggest successes as a tennis player. Between 1948 and 1960, he formed with Joseph Asboth the one of the strongest Davis Cup team in the continent (they won 16 of 20 matches). In addition, he won the team championship 15 times with Ujpest, he collected 8 national titles in singles and in doubles. Adam-Stolpa claimed the Hungarian national title in singles in 1948.
His greatest win came in singles at Roland Garros in 1947, when he defeated the 2nd seeded Budge Patty and he marched into the quarterfinal. (Patty won Roland Garros and Wimbledon in singles in 1950.)
On November 13-16, 2008 and on February 5-8,2009, he participated at the Senior tournaments in Budapest. On July 27, 2009 he was ranked as 876th player on the senior world ranklist of ITF.
