Bio She was an early champ from Staten Island in the 1880s. Adeline played mainly at the Staten Island Cricket and Baseball Club but competed in the 1888 National Championships where she lost in the semi-final to eventual champion Bertha Townsend after failing to convert her match point.

She is mentioned in an article by Henry Slocum in Outing: "Apart from being a remarkably well-conducted institution, the ladies’ club is famous and fortunate in numbering among its members Miss Adeline Robinson, who, according to popular opinion, is the most skilful exponent of lawn tennis to be found among the women of America."
