Bio He was a Russian-born French international tennis player, a collector and dealer of old paintings.

He competed once for the French team in the Davis Cup in 1926, defeating his opponent Colin Gregory in a dead rubber. In 1932 he was ranked 14th in the French rankings.

After trying football without much success, Pierre-Henri Landry took up tennis during his stays in England. He began tournaments in 1923 and the following year won the Porée Cup in doubles with Paul Féret, which allowed him to enter the first series.

Irish champion in 1926, he distinguished himself that year at the French Open by eliminating Jacques Brugnon in the 3rd round. In July, the captain of the French team Pierre Gillou invited him to attend the Davis Cup match against Great Britain in Cabourg. On Sunday, René Lacoste having to return to Paris, taken on business, he played in his place an exhibition match against Colin Gregory which he won.

Coming to the competition late, Pierre-Henri Landry achieved his first coup in 1927 by eliminating Jean Borotra in the semi-final of the Christmas Cup before losing in the final against René Lacoste, not without putting up good resistance. Borotra would take his revenge the following month in the final of the French indoor court championship.

In March 1928, replacing Henri Cochet, he left to Durban to join the Racing Club de France tour made up of Jean Borotra, Jacques Brugnon and Christian Boussus during their visit to South Africa. In August, he took part in the United States championship in Forest Hills where he was beaten by George Lott in the first round. In 1929, he took part in a new tour organized by Racing in Asia in the company of Cochet, Brugnon and Raymond Rodel.

He enjoyed his main successes in major tournaments on the grass of Wimbledon by being eighth finalist in 1928 and especially quarter-finalist in 1929 thanks to victories over the English champions Harry Lee and Colin Gregory. He was beaten on both occasions by Bill Tilden each time after highly contested encounters.

At the beginning of the 1930s, he was a possible joker to join the French Davis Cup team due to the withdrawal of Lacoste and Cochet's intentions to turn professional. Although it will never happen, Landry was able to participate in several international meetings during his career. He was ranked No.5 in France in 1927 and 1928 behind the Four Musketeers and No. 6 in 1930.

Pierre-Henri Landry distinguished himself by a solid baseline game both forehand and backhand and great precision in his shots.
