Biography

He won the French Men's Tennis Championship four years in a row: in 1897 against Archibald Warden (4-6, 6-4, 6-2), in 1898 against Paul Lebreton (5-7, 6-1, 6- 2), in 1899 against the same player (9-7, 3-6, 6-3) and in 1900 against André Prévost (6-3, 6-0).

He was also three times a finalist in the French Indoor Championships. A member of the Paris Tennis Club, he won the French interclub singles championship in 1900 by beating André Prévost then Charles Sands of the Société Sportive de l'Île de Puteaux1. Best player of the T.C.P., he held the title of club champion from 1897 to 1892, he could not however defend it in 1900.

He was part of the first French Davis Cup team in 1904 during a match against Belgium. He lost his two singles against Willy le Maire and Paul de Borman but won his double with Max Decugis.
In 1895, he was the member of Stade Francais and between 1898-1900 the member of Tennis Club de Paris.
