Biography

Gillou won the French Women's Singles Championship in each of 1904, 1905, 1906 and 1908, having lost in 1903 final to Adine Masson.

Gillou's victories in 1906 and 1908 were achieved under her married name of Kate Gillou-Fenwick.She also competed at the 1900 Summer Olympics.

Anto ine "Coco" Gentien was her nephew. "Towards the end of the century,my maternal grandmother had fallen in love with the new game at first sight and had an English architect build a court for her in her garden at Auteuil. It must have been one of the first ones in France... (Clerici, p 110).
