Bio Greenberg is one of the most decorated tennis players in Northwestern history. He became NU's first Big Ten singles champion in 1940 and he followed that up with another crown in 1941. Greenberg helped the Wildcats capture their second Big Ten team title in 1940 and he captained them to their third championship in 1942. He also excelled in doubles, teaming with Jerry Clifford in 1940 to capture the 1940 Big Ten doubles crown, also a first for NU. On the national level, Greenberg won the 1942 and 1943 Clay Court titles. He was ranked fifth in the U.S. in singles in 1943 and 1944.

Greenberg's three doubles titles still rank first all-time in Big Ten history. He has been inducted into numerous Halls of Fame, including the Chicago Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and the Chicago Tennis Hall of Fame.
