| Bio | He was the first tennis champion of Vietnam. He played for the Cercle Sportif Annamite association. In 1931, Nguyen Chim and Giao were invited to France and England to attend the two biggest Grand Slam tournaments that all tennis players in the world dream of attending: the French Open and Wimbledon. This is the first time that two Vietnamese have attended the Grand Slam tournament. In the second round of the French Open tennis tournament at Roland Garros, Paris, Nguyen Van Chim fought with Jean Borotra, the famous French tennis player who is considered one of the "four musketeers", with such an opponent, although Nguyen Van Chim lost 4-6, 3-6, 3-6, he made an impression on the world tennis world. In August 1950, Nguyen Van Chim participated in the Monte Carlo Country Club tournament but in the second round lost to Horsten (France). A few years later he passed away. |
