Bio Georges Glasser is the son of Edouard Glasser, engineer at the Corps des mines then director of the Compagnie Générale des Eaux. Coming from the class of 1926 at the École polytechnique, he later joined the company as a civil engineer and chief engineer for works in Paris. In 1934 he married Germaine Farjon, daughter of Senator Roger Farjon.

In 1940, he became head of the Sports Equipment Department of the General Commission for General Education and Sports, directed by Jean Borotra, a doubles partner. He left his post during the restructuring of the Commissariat in April 1942 and was replaced by Jean Couteaud.

Chairman of the association of French aeronautical and space industries from 1956 to 1957, he was then Chairman and CEO of Alstom from 1958 to 1975, a period marked by new management methods and major restructuring. He was primarily a mixed doubles player; he won a few titles during his career in singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles. He was also president of the Tennis club of Paris.
