Bio A native of San Diego, Kathy has a long and distinguished tennis record.
She won the USTA National Junior doubles with fellow Hall of Fame member, Karen Hantze Susman.
1959 through 1961 and was ranked #3 nationally in the 18 and under singles in 1960. That same year, Kathy was the Junior Wimbledon finalist, and she went on to attain singles rankings of #4 in the USTA in 1961 as well as #6 in the world.

Kathy was the USTA National Hardcourt Champion in 1961, the Ojai Open Champion in 1962 and the USTA Champion at the US Open in 1984 in the 35s. In 1984, she was ranked number one in the 35 singles in both USTA and SCTA.

Kathy has been an invaluable asset regarding community service locally, most notably with Youth Tennis San Diego. She was Co-Chair of the Campaign to build the Barnes Junior Tennis Center 1989-1996, and has since served in numerous capacities there including Director of Junior Development, Vice-President, Director of Marketing, National Junior Tennis League Coordinator, President of the Board 2002-2004 and Chair of the Board 2004-2006. Kathy was the USTA Chair of the Community Tennis Association 2000-2002 and the Council Chair of the CTA 2005-2006. A tireless community volunteer, her service includes work with Say No to Drugs, Hall of Champions Say Yes to Sports Program and the Ronald McDonald House of San Diego. Clearly, Kathy Willette has given much back to tennis and to San Diego.
